Motorcycling South Australia is seeking a passionate Sports Development and Events Coordinator!

About Us:

Motorcycling South Australia (MSA) is the governing body of motorcycle sport in South Australia.  There are currently 42 affiliated clubs in metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australia, as far widespread as Mt Gambier, Port Lincoln, Ceduna and Renmark. Each year, MSA prepares a calendar of recreational and competitive motorcycle events. There are on average, over 20 state events conducted each year, with a further 100 club-based events.

The types of motorcycle sports, or disciplines, which are governed by MSA include ATV (Quads), Dirt Track, Enduro, Motocross, Road Race, Reliability Trials, Speedway and Trial.

About the Role:

The Sports Development and Events Coordinator is an administrative support function within MSA. This role is crucial in ensuring the professionalism of motorcycling events by supporting clubs and officials. Duties include processing event permits and regulations, providing event support, liaising with volunteers, injury reporting, and database management, while providing excellent customer service.

The role also focuses on junior development and female participation, along with club development. In addition, this role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to recruit, retain, manage and train our volunteer officials and coaches.

This role will initially be offered as a fixed-term (12 months), part-time position (0.8), with the potential to have the contract extended and on a fulltime basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support club development and affiliations, fostering positive relationships with clubs and promoters.
  • Coordinate and train coaches and officials to ensure they meet the highest standards.
  • Manage event logistics, including permits, injury reporting, and timing systems.
  • Promote junior development and female participation in sport.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and administrative support, including database management.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven experience in providing administrative and customer service support.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, managing multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Ability to lead and deliver engaging training sessions for volunteers.
  • Strong ability to develop and deliver sports programs tailored to encourage junior and female participation.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, website management (WordPress) and email platforms (Mailchimp). 
  • A passion for motorcycle racing or sports in general.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of two years in a similar role.
  • Experience working with volunteers and/or in a member-based organization.
  • A degree in Sports Administration or a related field is highly desirable.

Special Conditions:

  • This position requires some work outside of normal business hours and occasional regional travel.
  • Successful applicants will undergo a National Police Check and a Working with Children Check.
