Position Purpose

As our Senior Videographer, you'll capture the moments that define us - from the raw intensity of match day to the unsung heroes working behind the scenes. Your lens will tell the stories that bring our community together and showcase what makes our club special. 

You will document every aspect of club life, whether it's the predawn training sessions, the roar of the crowd at Belmore, or the quiet moments of determination that shape our future, your content will connect our fans to the heart of the Bulldogs experience. 

This role demands 3-5 years of professional videography and photography experience, with a proven track record of producing compelling sports content. We're looking for someone who pushes creative boundaries and maintains unwavering standards, matching our drive to be the best in everything we do. You'll have access to professional-grade equipment and lighting setups to bring your vision to life. 

Reporting directly to the General Manager of Marketing, you'll be a crucial part of our story, overseeing all video content from match day coverage to sponsor deliverables. We're seeking someone who brings both technical mastery and creative vision, but more importantly, someone who understands that every piece of content contributes to a legacy that spans generations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Content Creation and Production

  • Lead the planning, shooting, and editing of high-quality video content across all club platforms
  • Create platform-specific content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and emerging social channels
  • Oversee match day video operations and coordinate coverage of training sessions
  • Develop and execute creative concepts for club and sponsor content
  • Work with the Content & Social producer on the social content calendar 
  • Stay current with video innovations and emerging media techniques
  • Ensure all video content meets brand guidelines and NRL operational guidelines

Technical Operations

  • Manage our fully-equipped in-house studio and lighting and audio set ups
  • Maintain detailed records in the Club's equipment register
  • Execute the technical issue resolution process for all production equipment
  • Conduct regular audits of equipment condition and performance
  • Develop and document technical specifications for various content types
  • Ensure all team members are trained on equipment handling procedures

Quality Control and Compliance

  • Implement and oversee quality assurance for all video and photographic content
  • Maintain documentation of quality control processes and outcomes
  • Conduct regular reviews of published content against quality standards
  • Provide detailed feedback on technical and creative improvements
  • Monitor and report on content performance metrics
  • Ensure all content meets broadcast and digital platform specifications

Creative leadership

  • Lead and mentor one videographer, including task prioritisation and technical development
  • Create and maintain production schedules and workflow processes
  • Identify training needs and growth opportunities for team members
  • Drive innovation in visual storytelling techniques

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • 3-5 years' experience in professional videography, preferably in sports or entertainment
  • Expert knowledge of professional video equipment and production techniques 
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) 
  • Proven expertise in studio and outdoor lighting techniques 
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital content best practices 
  • Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments 
  • Excellent eye for composition and storytelling through video 
  • Strong problem-solving and project management abilities 
  • Valid driver's license and flexibility to work weekends and match days

Desirable:

  • Degree qualification in Film, Media, Communications, or related field 
  • Demonstrated freelance creative network within sports media industry 
  • Experience in sports videography or live production

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position. Given the unique nature of the sports industry, working outside of office hours will be required including attending match days (home & away games), partner events and other job-related activities. Flexibility around the hours/days worked may be available, negotiable with the successful candidate.
