AusCycling is the nation’s peak riding and cycling body, representing more than 5 million Australians who ride bikes. Formed in 2020 from 19 state, territory, and national bodies, AusCycling is responsible for programs, projects and initiatives that encompass BMX, Track, Mountain Bike, Road, Para and recreational.
We help school kids learn to ride, we stage more than 500 events each year, we nurture clubs and create pathways, and we are responsible for the training, welfare, and performance of Australia’s Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Tour athletes.

Position Purpose
Based in Brisbane, you will form a critical part of the AusCycling and QAS Acceleration and Action (A&A) Centre of Excellence (CoE). The primary purpose of this role is to deliver face-to-face coaching of Emerging to Podium Potential categorised Tack Sprint athletes within the program.
Responsibilities
Development Sprint Coach
- Lead the planning and deliver specialised training and competition programs for sprint athletes
- Support the development of sprint athletes to enable them to reach high levels of ownership of their programs
- Lead the tactical and technical preparation of sprint athletes by contributing to strategy, periodised planning, and the design and delivery of training sessions
- Develop a broad range of performance skills by creating and communicating clear individual athlete performance plans based on sound rationale with an inclusive, evidence-based approach
- Build appropriate linkages to YouFor32 and AusCycling Development Academies
- Work proactively and collaboratively with AC/QAS A&A CoE Performance Support Team, leveraging expertise and exploring ways to improve athlete progression and performance
- Undertake annual and quadrennial WITTW Performance Planning, including regular multidisciplinary team case conferences to identify areas of risks and opportunities to optimise athlete progression, in collaboration with AC/QAS A&A CoE Performance Support Team
- Engage proactively with AC/QAS A&A CoE Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement Team to ensure an approach that supports athletes within the environment in-line with the WinWell Strategy
- Proactively and collaboratively engage in QAS High Performance coach development support program ensuring commitment to continuous improvement: this includes attending cross sport communities of practice, 360 reviews and individual development programs
- Where required, act as a Qld or an AC National Team coach at competitions, including logistical coordination of operations for smooth and effective competition activity
