Pacific Action Sports delivers the only sanctioned skateboarding league in Australia, catering from amateurs at the grassroots level to professional level with Olympic aspirations. Two skateboarding series are delivered annually: the Rumble Am Series (development program) and the BMD Rumble Pro Tour. In addition, the Rumble Roadshow events are run across the country, engaging the skateboarding community including Learn to Skate sessions, demos, giveaways and opportunities for fans to meet their favourite skaters.
Reporting to the Board of Directors and working closely with the Founder, the newly created role of General Manager implements and oversees the business and commercial operations of Pacific Action Sports.
No two days are the same in this very hands-on role that's full of variety. Responsible for implementing strategic and operational plans, finance management, building sponsorship, engaging the skateboarding community and managing stakeholder relationships whilst running the day to day business operations, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills and share in achieving and developing the future vision of an exciting organisation.
To be considered for this role you will need strong business management and administrative skills with the ability to engage, influence and develop lasting, positive relationships with the stakeholder family. You will be thorough, accurate and timely in your work and capable of autonomously managing a range of competing priorities, tasks and duties within tight deadlines. You will also have strong experiences in identifying and creating sustainable commercial partnerships and sponsorships, and are comfortable working with organisations of various scale across a wide range of industries.
This role provides opportunity to lead and grow an evolving organisation with one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, and would suit a candidate who has previous general management experiences or is ready for the next career step from an operations and/or commercial management role. A background in skateboarding is not required, however experiences from within a sport, event or entertainment organisation would be looked upon favourably.
