Through a holistic approach, the program supports students in achieving excellence on the water, in the classroom, and beyond. Our vibrant and inclusive rowing community empowers girls to discover and develop their confidence, passions, and potential for optimal wellbeing and performance.

As Head of Rowing, you will lead and inspire the rowing program, ensuring it thrives both on and off the water. You will oversee all aspects of program management and administration, from coordinating competition entries to ensuring our athletes have the resources they need to succeed. Working closely with coaches, the Artemis team, and the broader school community, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the program’s strategic direction and nurturing a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and growth.

The successful candidate will work autonomously, and as part of a team, to plan for all associated sporting events and engage successfully with key stakeholders to set, evaluate and continuously revise the pathways of Rowing performance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for Rowing, coupled with outstanding administrative skills. Key Selection Criteria

You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to:

  • Student Wellbeing, Development, and Performance 
    - Demonstrated ability to create a positive, inclusive, and safe environment that fosters student wellbeing, personal growth, and competitive excellence in line with MGGS values and Child Safety protocols.  
  • Program Operations, Management, and Administration
    - Ability to implement and uphold rigorous risk management practices, ensuring compliance with Child Safety, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), and employment legislation.
    - Proven expertise in delivering comprehensive programs on time and within budget, managing schedules and logistics effectively.
  • Strategic Leadership
    - Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans, conduct program reviews, and identify improvement opportunities to ensure long-term growth and success of a rowing program.
  • Leadership of People and Culture
    - Strong leadership skills to recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team of coaches and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and growth.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 3 Coaching Accreditation (Rowing)
  • Current HLTAID009 (CPR) and HLTAID011 (Provide First Aid) or willingness to acquire.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence (FULL)
  • Current Victorian Boat Licence, or be willing to obtain
  • Current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee), or willing to obtain
