We are seeking an experienced Administrative Support Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our Referees Group and to our General Administration Team. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. You'd be an extra special candidate if you have refereeing experience or an understanding of how football referee administration works. You'll be part of a small, yet dynamic team, with many connected and moving parts. You'll need to be flexible towards your workload management and be able to pivot as required. You must have a can do attitude and be able to manage competing priorities. A firm grasp of written and spoken English is an absolute must.

Work Days & Hours

This is a part time role, - 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible within the Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm range.

There are some requirements to attend 1 or 2 meetings held at night per month. Several times throughout the year, you will also be asked to work some weekend days, for which you will be correctly compensated.

Also important to note that you'll be working for a community sports organisation. Community sport is played outside of regular business hours, so the very nature of your role will see you working with community volunteers and amateur athletes, therefore, some out of hours and weekend work will be required from time to time. This will always be with notice, but the expectation is that you will be able to accomodate these variances when they arise. Please do not apply if your personal situation means you can't accommodate some occasional variation to regular hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to various departments within the organisation
  • Manage and maintain electronic and paper filing systems
  • Answer and direct phone calls and emails
  • Schedule and coordinate Referee Appointments
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, memos, and reports relating to your various roles
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations and other materials
  • Perform data entry and maintain databases
  • Order and maintain office and uniform supplies
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assist in the management of relevant social media channels and webpage content

Qualifications:

  • Certificate 4 or high in Administration or Business Operations
  • 2+ years of experience in an administrative support role
  • Experience as a Referee or in Sports Administration will be favourably viewed
  • Proven High Degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Experience with data entry and database management
  • Knowledge of office equipment and procedures
  • Ability to work as part of a small hardworking team
  • This is a child related position. Successful applicants must hold a valid NSW Working With Children Clearance prior to being employed.

Remuneration

Will be above award wages based on Grade 5-6 Clerical in the SPORTING ORGANISATIONS AWARD [MA000082] dependent upon age and experience.
