Description

The Junior Football Coordinator provides competition management and operations for Junior Football Leagues under AFL South East Service Agreement and is pivotal in ensuring a professional delivery for the benefit of affiliated clubs and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Junior Football Operations

  • Prepare fixtures for the MPJFL, SEJ and FDJFL.
  • Liaise with the AFL South East Umpiring Department on all fixturing matters
  • Manage the administration of all clearances transferring to, from and within the MPJFL, SEJ & FDJFL
  • Manage the MPJFL, SEJ & FDJFL Competition Management System (PlayHQ)
  • Liaise with and communicate information to clubs
  • Preparation of reports as required
  • Liaise with clubs regarding all by-laws, including conducting an annual review
  • Manage the rules of the competition and the game
  • Monitor and ensure all areas of application, compliance, and adherence to AFL Victoria rules and AFLSE Bylaws
  • Ensure accurate agenda and document distribution and minute taking for all MPJFL, SEJ & FDJFL Club, Executive and Advisory Committee meetings
  • Submit Annual Report to AFLSE Annual General Meeting
  • Oversee all match day paperwork and follow up as required

Event Management

  • Assist in Planning, managing and delivery of the MPJFL, SEJ & FDJFL final series
  • Assist with all information in the required time frame to help plan and deliver MPJFL, SEJ & FDJFL events such as Presentation Nights
  • Coordinate and attend league meetings and events as required
  • Assist clubs to negotiate usage and management of final series’ venues
  • Coordinate all medals and trophies for finals and League awards
  • Assist with match day duties during finals of other Leagues as needed
  • You may be required to perform other tasks from time to time, as reasonably requested by the Junior Operations & Development Manager

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Develop and maintain strong and productive relationships with all member clubs, AFL Victoria, and other neighboring leagues if needed
  • Consult with other community-based organisations and build relationships when and where appropriate
  • Assist club officials in the day-to-day management of their clubs
  • Communicate information to club officials
  • Work to establish strategies to develop the professionalism of clubs and improve their structures and processes to ensure their viability (Connect with Participation Team, Volunteer Support Officer, Female Football Advocate and Coach Developer)
  • Ensure all reporting is up to date for all league executive and club meetings
  • Provide a contact point for all enquires assistance and training concerning player registrations

Work Arrangements

  • Some weekend work required

  • 3 connect days / 2 work from home days
