WAIS was established in 1984 to enable Western Australian athletes to achieve international sporting success. We operate in partnership with National Sporting Organisations and State Sporting Associations along with VenuesWest and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to deliver a high- performance training environment for sports and athletes.

Role Overview.
In this newly created role, you will play a key role in developing and implementing a community engagement and event strategy to support the WAIS Strategic Plan.
What you’ll be doing:
- Bringing WAIS to the people – create exciting community engagement initiatives that inspire the next generation of athletes.
- Planning epic events – from athlete meet and greets to large scale celebrations, you’ll be the mastermind behind WAIS’s most impactful community moments.
- Building strong partnerships – collaborate with schools, sponsors and sporting associations to expand WAIS’s influence and impact.
- Adding your own spark – got an amazing idea? We want to hear it (and probably run with it!)
About you:
- You have excellent experience in event planning, community engagement or marketing (bonus points if you’ve worked in sport!)
- You’re a high-energy people loving event pro who can juggle multiple projects both small and large scale with ease.
- You are skilled at developing genuine and effective relationships – your stakeholders love dealing with you!
- You have laser-sharp attention to detail – you can spot an out-of-place comma from a mile away and event run sheets are your masterpiece.
- You’re curious and results-driven, always looking to explore and test new approaches to enhance engagement.
- You are skilled at collaborating across multiple teams to ensure that you nail the shared goals and outcomes.
- Above all else, you are a genuine team player that cares about others and always acts with kindness and integrity.
