With a new ownership structure and elevated game experience, the WNBL is focused on expanding its fan base through innovative marketing strategies. The Fan Acquisition Executive will drive audience growth and meaningful connections with basketball communities across Australia.
What You'll Do
As Fan Acquisition Executive, you'll be responsible for developing and executing strategies that grow the WNBL's fan base through targeted marketing campaigns, digital initiatives, and stakeholder collaboration.
You'll drive audience growth and engagement while building meaningful connections with fans across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Fan Acquisition & Strategy
- Lead the development of fan acquisition strategies focused on growing first-party data
- Execute targeted marketing campaigns to drive customer acquisition and engagement
- Work with WNBL Clubs to convert basketball participants into engaged WNBL fans
Digital Marketing & Customer Engagement
- Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies across paid social, SEO, and programmatic channels
- Create and implement data-driven customer segmentation models with automated campaign delivery
- Lead performance tracking and optimisation across all digital marketing initiatives
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with WNBL clubs to achieve fan acquisition targets and KPIs
- Work with external partners including commercial partners and tech platforms
- Support broader WNBL initiatives to achieve key business outcomes
- Manage relationships with creative services and production houses
What You Bring
- 3+ years' experience in digital marketing, customer acquisition, or fan engagement, preferably in sports or entertainment
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
- Proven success in developing and executing marketing campaigns with measurable outcomes
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to process data and identify emerging trends
- Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship building skills
- Experience with digital marketing tools, CRM platforms, and customer engagement systems
- Understanding of the sports industry, with women's sports experience highly regarded
