With a new ownership structure and elevated game experience, the WNBL is strengthening its digital presence and community engagement. The Social Media Coordinator will create dynamic content and foster meaningful connections with fans nationwide.
What You'll Do
As Social Media Coordinator, you'll be responsible for creating and managing high-quality social media content that drives audience growth, fan engagement, and brand awareness.
You'll produce compelling basketball-focused content while providing data-driven insights to enhance the league's online presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Management
- Develop and execute creative content strategies across all social platforms
- Manage live social media coverage during game nights and key events
- Coordinate content calendars aligned with league schedule and objectives
Community Engagement & Growth
- Foster positive fan interactions through active community management
- Create and implement engagement strategies to grow platform following
- Drive innovative social campaigns that strengthen the WNBL brand
Analytics & Strategic Development
- Track and analyse social media metrics to optimise content performance
- Monitor emerging trends and platform updates to maintain innovation
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects to support league initiatives
What You Bring
- Proven experience in managing and growing social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter)
- Demonstrated success in creating engaging content and increasing social media engagement
- Basic skills in graphic design and video editing with Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting social media data
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Understanding of digital marketing trends and social media best practices
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for basketball and women's sport highly regarded
