Organisation

The Frankston & District Basketball Association (FDBA) is the largest sporting association on the Mornington Peninsula and is the regional hub for basketball with over 15,000 participants competing in various basketball programs annually.

These programs include grassroots development, junior and senior competitions; high performance; programs for people with disabilities and referee & coaching development.

Overview

The Competitions Assistant works as part of the front office team and is responsible for supporting the effective administration of FDBA competitions and facility operations.  The CA will work closely with domestic clubs and is a key point of contact for FDBA member and general public enquiries. 

Responsibilities

General Office Support:

  • Be the first point of contact in the office and on the phone for our most valuable asset - our customers
  • Reception duties including answering and making phone calls, receiving and confirming court bookings
  • Assist in administrative functions in areas such as the operational requirements of the FDBA
  • Assist & Coordinate presentations including ordering of medals/trophies and collection in a timely manner
  • Maintaining and ordering of stock of supplies and stationery
  • Assisting with meetings and presentations

Key Selection Criteria

  • Sport & recreation passion.
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Experience working in a sport or membership-based organisation is desirable but not essential
  • Strong IT Skills
    • MS office competent
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to meet deadlines while working autonomously
  • High-level attention to detail
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders which includes volunteer management
  • Customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • To have or obtain a valid Working With Children Check
  • Drivers Licence

Appointment Terms

  • Permanent salaried position - 52 weeks per year inc. annual leave.
  • 38 hours per week
  • Standard hours:
    • 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday
    • Evening and weekend work may be required during peak competition hours and where reasonably directed
