The role

As part of the AusCycling Media, Marketing and Communications Team, you will be responsible for creating, and collaborating on, innovative and engaging content, communications and marketing to support our strategy across multiple platforms and timelines. This includes;

  • Developing content, communications and marketing material to inform, entertain and raise awareness and consideration of cycling and riding across multiple demographics.
  • Creating content, communications and marketing material to highlight cycling and riding’s positive impact on physical and mental health and its contribution to Australia’s environmental health.
  • Provide news content for multiple channels on AusCycling’s competitive events across all disciplines with an initial focus on BMX Racing and BMX Freestyle.
  • Manage media opportunities to maximise coverage and awareness of AusCycling, including creation of media releases and multi-platform content for a range of outlets.
  • Helping AusCycling explore new ways to engage our audiences through new platforms, technologies and content types.

About you

Ideally, you have a tertiary degree in Media, Communications, Journalism or Marketing and have at least 3 years’ relevant work experience. You will be an energetic self-starter happy to work both in a team and independently.

You have exceptional communications skills, attention to detail and experience in creating multiple content types; text, video and audio. You’re equally comfortable producing a deadline report from an international event, writing a feature on the mental health benefits of riding or supporting a marketing campaign.

You’re also an all-rounder, able to deal with external media at events and create releases that keep the industry informed. Ideally, you have a passion for cycling and riding and the many joys and benefits it brings to Australians.

Essential Requirements

  • National Police / Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check

Desirable Criteria

  • Sports Marketing / PR / Communications Degree
  • Tertiary qualifications in Media, Communications, Marketing (or related fields) are highly desirable for this role, along with at least three years’ experience in a relevant industry.
