Description

Event volunteers are a vital part of ensuring the smooth delivery of the 2025 Santos Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge. General volunteers assist with delivery of team logistics, spectator services, access control and schools program support throughout the duration of the event. Without volunteers, the event simply would not succeed. The 2025 Santos Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge will be held in Adelaide at the Netball SA Stadium from 29 May - 1 June 2025. Volunteer shifts are available from 28 May - 1 June 2025.

Responsibilities

Volunteers may be asked to assist in achieving the following key responsibilities:

- Spectator Services & Access Control

  • Assisting spectators with questions and escalating questions to the VolunteerManager
  • Assisting in ushering spectators to seating
  • Checking accreditations to restricted areas at the venue

- Schools Program

  • Assisting with ushering the schools program participants in the venue and from their transport.
  • Assisting with wayfinding to amenities at the venue.
  • Assisting the Schools Program Manager with program activities (athlete meet and greets and signature sessions)

- Team Logistics

  • Assisting with getting teams on and off the field of play (this may require assisting with equipment, managing spectators in thoroughfares, etc.)

- Ticketing & Merchandise

  • Assisting with selling and distribution of tickets and merchandise at the venue
  • Replenishing stock and reporting trends and questions to Event Staff

- Transport

  • Assist with airport arrivals and in competition team transport
  • Remain on standby at the venue to assist with emergency transport trips (i.e. to team accommodations)
