The General Manager (GM) of RedCity Roar is the senior executive responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic growth of the organisation.

Reporting directly to the management committee, the GM will ensure the Association’s financial sustainability, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of excellence in basketball development. This role requires a visionary leader who can grow the organisation in size and financial capacity while maintaining its core values and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute the Association’s strategic plan in alignment with Board directives. 
• Identify growth opportunities, both in membership and financial sustainability.
• Lead organisational initiatives that promote innovation and long-term success.

2. Operational Management:

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring all activities align with the RedCity Roar’s mission and goals.
• Manage and support all staff, as per the Red City Roar organisational structure including the Coaching Coordinator, Competitions Coordinator, and the Administrative team.

3. Financial Oversight:

• Prepare and manage the club’s budget, ensuring financial accountability and sustainability.
• Identify and secure funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
• Provide financial reports to the Management Committee and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

4. Community and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including players, coaches, parents, sponsors, and the wider community.
• Represent RedCity Roar at industry events, meetings, and other public forums.
• Foster a positive culture that encourages participation and community support.

5. Marketing and Communications:

• Develop and oversee marketing strategies to promote RedCity Roar and its activities.
• Enhance the association’s profile through effective branding, social media presence, and public relations.
• Communicate regularly with members and stakeholders to ensure transparency and engagement.

6. Governance and Reporting:

• Ensure the association’s operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
• Provide regular reports to the Management Committee on operational, financial, and strategic matters.
• Collaborate with the Management Committee to develop policies and governance frameworks

1. Essential Qualifications and Experience: 

• Proven leadership experience in a management role, preferably within a sports organisation.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and financial management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and manage diverse teams.

2. Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Business Management, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a General Manager role.
