You will be shaping the future of coaching and player development standards all while working alongside Northern NSW Football's technical staff leading to further professional development.
The primary purpose of the role is to:
To be the face of football development programs and services within the Hunter Valley Football Zone
Provide enhanced localised education, training, mentoring and support to Hunter Valley Football Clubs, coaches, and players.
Increase the capacity of accredited coaches within the Hunter Valley Zone to provide positive learning environments and football experiences, particularly for junior and youth players.
Support in the identification of players transitioning from community football into the Talented Player Pathway (JDL into PYL competitions).
Ensure alignment and consistency of National and State coach and player development content, methodologies, and philosophies into local clubs throughout the Hunter Valley.
Skills:
An ability to effectively manage and communicate with all stakeholders.
Hold a Current B-Diploma (A-Diploma preferable) and have the ability to deliver or desire to become accredited to deliver Community Coach Development programs.
Experience within the community football landscape.
A proven history of identifying potentially talented players between the ages of 8-16.
You have a proven record of designing and delivering large-scale development programs suitable for junior and youth athletes.
Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
Comprehensive understanding of the Talented Player Pathway and coach development pathways in NNSW.
Ability to work independently and be part of a team environment.
Confident in delivering informal coach mentoring and education.
Strong commitment to junior development.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Offer tailored Coach and player development support around each Hunter Valley Football Club.
Plan, administer and deliver training programs that bridge the gap between community football and the Talented Player Pathway.
Plan, administer and deliver training programs, holiday camps and similar for community football players.
Identify and coordinate opportunities for Hunter Valley Football teams to participate in sanctioned tournaments and events that add value to participants and assist in developing players and coaches.
Deliver monthly coach development workshops (Zoom and/or face-to-face).
Provide formal and informal mentoring, education & developmental support for registered coaches in the Zone.
Deliver formal Community Coach Education to Hunter Valley Club coaches.
Participate actively in the NNSWF State Talent Identification network for players and coaches.
At the direction of the NNSW Technical Director, deliver professional development & support to JDL technical directors and coaches.
Unique Criteria
You must be able to work weekends and perform tasks outside of normal recognised working hours.
You must have the ability to keep calm and communicate clearly and effectively in a highly emotive area.
You must have the ability to work off-site within the Hunter Valley and Northern NSW Football regions.
