NRAA is seeking to appoint an Executive Officer* (EO) to lead the NRAA, reporting to the NRAA Board.
About Us
The NRAA (National Rifle Association of Australia) is a member of Shooting Australia and responsible for the discipline of full-bore rifle shooting in Australia. It’s members are the 9 State & Territory organisations (there is 2 SSO’s in QLD) around Australia. Across the State & Territory Organisations, there are over 6,000 members.
Internationally, NRAA is a member of ICFRA (International Confederation of Fullbore Rifle Associations) and its teams attends two World Championships events every 2 years.
Position Purpose
The EO role is a growing role, and currently there are 2 staff members and 1 part time Accountant reporting to the role. With initatvies around new Systems, Coaching Programs and Marketing/Promotion, the role of the EO is likely to grow.
The role involves leading the activties of the NRAA and its staff in achieving project outcomes and tasks set by the Board in conjunction with its State & Territory members. Areas of management include NRAA’s Strategic Plan, SIA NIF and Other Policies, Insurances, Finances, Officials development, IT Systems, interaction with States & Territories EO’s.
Applicant Requirements
To be considered for this role, the applicant will need to demonstrate:
- Strong experience in leading and managing a team within a sport covering community to high performance.
- Proven experience in executive leadership roles, ideally in sports administration or a related field.
- knowledge of the administration and development of sport,
- capacity to oversee financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and resource allocation.
- excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- managing and implementing a successful change process as well as strategy implementation
- Financial management skills with exposure to budgets, revenue generation income and expense management experience
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
