Coaching at Brisbane Girls Grammar School
The Sport Program at Brisbane Girls Grammar School offers 18 competitive and several non-competitive sporting activities. The School is a founding member of the Queensland Girls Secondary Schools Sports Association (QGSSSA) competition, BGGS also participates in a range of Brisbane club association fixtures and offers a comprehensive Interhouse Program.
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking Tennis Coaches to contribute to the School’s exceptional Sport Program.
The coach’s role is to deliver coaching sessions that provide a safe environment for athletes and to develop skills, tactical awareness, teamwork and enjoyment of the sport.
Due to the large size of the program, we are seeking coaches with varying experience and qualifications.
Experienced coaches may be paid on a casual basis (minimum two-hour shifts).
Pay rates vary according to experience, qualifications and coaching responsibilities.
Less experienced coaches may receive an honorarium in recognition of their voluntary contribution to the School and the development and support of students.
Trainings
Tennis teams will commence training in Term 2. 2025 and conclude at the end of Term 3. Training will be located at the School’s tennis courts in Victoria Park. Training times will be allocated once coaching availability is known. Training will either be in the mornings from 6.45am - 8.00am or afternoons from 3.30pm - 5.30pm. Teams will have one training session per week.
Competition
The QGSSSA 2025 Tennis season commences on Saturday July 19, 2025. QGSSSA Tennis fixtures are played every Saturday morning, with the season ending on Saturday September 13, 2025. Travel to a variety of schools for fixtures will be required.
Qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated experience coaching girls from beginner to elite level
- Coaching and/or refereeing accreditation is desirable
- Professional presentation and manner
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
