The Whittlesea City Basketball Association is looking for a Permanent Full Time experienced office administrator to administer its Domestic Competition. This position is an important, varied, and challenging role. The administrator is responsible for tasks in the day-to-day operation of the Junior and Senior Domestic program. 

Our competitions run across several venues on weekends and at Mill Park Sports Stadium on weeknights. This is an exciting role which has its peak times across the commencement of the two main seasons and the running of our Tournament.

The role requires initiative and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in the provision of customer service and possess an ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including Volunteers, Referees, Administrators and Basketball Victoria 

Position Responsibilities. 

  • Oversee the placement and grading of teams into our domestic junior/ senior competition
  • Work in conjunction with the Domestic clubs and committees to ensure all registration protocols are adhered to.
  • Maintain data base for all leagues
  • Monitor with support from operations manager potential grading concerns  
  • Coordinate and pre-plan finals rosters and court plans
  • Coordinate and oversee fixturing and grading for the Autumn showdown tournament
  • Liaise with the accounts departments regarding the invoicing process for weekly and monthly accounts.
  • Assist where required in the training and development of stadium/venue supervisors
  • Undertake administrative roles on behalf of the WCBA tribunal chairperson where required
  • General administration duties answering phones and taking payments etc. 
  • Organize and setup new Programs/Competitions 
  • Handle enquiries from both members and teams 
  • Game Day Preparations

Position Requirements:

  • A Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • A Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • First- Aid Certification (OR willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent Time Management Skills
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications or Industry Experience within Sport is Desirable
  • Knowledge of Basketball Preferred
  • Excellent Computer Skills
    • Microsoft 365, PlayHQ

Appointment Terms

  • Permanent Full Time salaried position.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends when required.
