About Snow Australia

  • SNOW AUSTRALIA is the nationally and internationally recognised National Sporting Organisation (NSO) for competitive snow sports in Australia and is affiliated with the Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS), the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), Paralympics Australia (PA) and recognised by Australian Sports Commission (ASC).
  • SNOW AUSTRALIA has the overarching responsibility for the entire national athlete pathway, from entry level through to elite, across all disciplines. To meet this responsibility, SNOW AUSTRALIA engages with many different organisations including ski resorts, Federal & State Governments, State Sporting Organisations, Clubs, sporting institutes and industry peak bodies.
  • SNOW AUSTRALIA manages athlete pathways, conducts events and programs in Alpine Skiing, Ski Cross, Cross Country Skiing, Freestyle Skiing, Snowboarding, Park and Pipe, Para-alpine, Para-snowboard and specialty sub discipline activities within each.
  • NTH Interschools Snowsport Championships (NSW / ACT / QLD / SA / AUS) is Snow Australia’s largest participation event, design to inspire participation and community engagement in competitive snowsports. The Interschools includes 5 regional and 1 state events with additional supporting events:
    • Interschools Snowsport Championships (NSW / ACT / QLD / SA / AUS)
      • Subaru Northern NSW/QLD Regional Championships - Perisher
      • Subaru Sydney Regional Championships - Thredbo
      • SA / TAS / NT Championships - Falls Creek
      • Regional NSW Championships - Falls Creek
      • Subaru ACT/Regional NSW Regional Championships - Perisher
      • Subaru NSW / ACT / QLD State Championships - Perisher

About the Role

Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, the Results Contractor will manage the delivery of results and State/National Event invitations for the NTH Interschools Snowsport Championships, including:

  • Subaru Northern NSW/QLD Regional Championships - Perisher - 8-11 July
  • Subaru Sydney Regional Championships - Thredbo - 15-18 July
  • Subaru ACT/Regional NSW Regional Championships - Perisher - 22-25 July
  • Subaru NSW / ACT / QLD State Championships - Perisher - 18-22 August
  • Provision of results generated by VOLA, Live Heats, Split Second and Race Results Timing software.
  • Results and state/national event invite delivery will be for the following disciplines:
    • Timed events: Alpine Giant Slalom (GS), Snowboard GS, Ski Cross, Boarder Cross and Cross Country
    • Judged events: Moguls and Slopestyle (Ski and Snowboard)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely event results, enabling medal presentations, and result uploads to Snow Australia's website, through the use of VOLA, Live Heats, Split Second, and Race Result software.
  • Deliver state/national event invites by required timelines.
  • Assist with any results / disqualification results enquiries.
  • Conduct pre-event data testing and resolve software issues with service providers.
  • Attending and assisting with event day delivery maybe required, including but not limited to; working the event desk, assist with event day enquiries, volunteer check-in, bib collection.
  • Other duties as they arise related to Snow Australia Interschools events.

Skill and Experience

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office/365 Suite, Timing and / or Live Scoring Software background preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the timing, scoring and results generation at sporting events.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgement, discretion and take own initiative to solve problems and resolve conflict with minimal supervision or direction.
  • Ability to analyse and revise operating practices to improve efficiency.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced remote environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Commitment to meeting and where possible exceeding deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and part of a small team and see tasks through to completion.
  • Exceptional communication skills and proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Australian snow industry and/or Interschools Snowsport Championships is desirable.

Employment Requirements

  • During event periods the successful candidate may need to work extended hours.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to be on-snow during event times.
  • Accommodation in Jindabyne may be negotiated during event periods only.

Sport Integrity Requirements

As part of your role, you are required to work with children and young people. To fulfill Snow Australia’s commitment to sport integrity, if successful, the applicant must complete the following:

  • Working with Children’s Check - to be received by Snow Australia prior to May 6.
  • Read the Snow Australia National Integrity Framework.
  • Complete the required Sport Integrity education modules as per Snow Australia’s Education Plan.

Desirable Criteria
