Description

Little Athletics Queensland are on the lookout for a full time Development Officer to join the rapidly expanding LAQ development team. Development Officers play a crucial role in growing participation in Little Athletics through building positive relationships with Schools, Little Athletics Centres and implementing innovative development programs that meet the needs of Little Athletics coaches, athletes, officials & volunteers.

We are seeking someone who is highly organised and can proactively work in a team environment to achieve targets, budgets and KPI’s that align to the organisation’s strategic plans.

Primarily the role is focussed on:

  • Schools: Assist with the set up and delivery of the newly created Ultimate Athletics programs through SEQ schools.
  • Education: Assist with the set-up & delivery of LAQ education programs for parents, coaches & volunteers.
  • Centres: Provide programs, advice and support to LAQ Centres that foster strong relationships and positive experiences for athletes and volunteers.
  • Athlete Development: Plan and administer coaching clinics and promotional opportunities for athletes and prospective members.

We are seeking people with:

  • Knowledge of athletics and particularly Little Athletics.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with teachers, parents & children.
  • Excellent program planning and delivery skills.
  • Excellent decision making & organisation.
  • Good energy & an enjoyment for coaching.
  • High level of customer focus.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively with others as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work effectively in flexible environment and keep to tight timelines.
