The Role
Help shape our strategic infrastructure priorities and create high quality sport and leisure facilities that are vibrant and thriving places!
This role provides short and long-term strategic advice to support our growing community and plays a pivotal role in developing Council’s Sport and Leisure Infrastructure delivery priorities, policies and strategies.
It is directly involved in the planning and design of sport and leisure infrastructure projects (such as sporting reserves and pavilions, leisure centres, indoor and outdoor sports courts and informal recreation facilities) and works closely with Council’s Capital Delivery team who manage the construction of these facilities and bring them to life!
In addition, this role is also in regular contact with community stakeholders, state sporting associations, service owners, developers, and other external partners to develop sport and leisure strategies and policies that ensure Council’s facilities are fit for purpose and continue to meet the growing needs of our community.
About you
You are passionate about how sport and leisure infrastructure can contribute to vibrant, strong communities and are seeking a unique opportunity to work for a growth area Council.
You are experienced in developing high quality written documents, can explain complex matters to a diverse range of audiences and have supported the planning and/or delivery of sport and leisure infrastructure projects, policies and strategies.

The City of Whittlesea is also a Child Safe employer.
Council is committed to providing an inclusive workplace that encourages employees to participate, without discrimination, in both work-related and other activities conducted within a work context, with the support of workplace adjustments. Where possible, the Council will identify and resolve potential barriers to the recruitment and employment of people with disabilities within the organisation.
If you require a workplace adjustment to support you during the interview process, please email human.resources@whittlesea.vic.gov.au with your request outlining your preferred method of contact. Workplace adjustment (also known as “reasonable adjustment”) is defined as: “Whatever is considered necessary and achievable to enable an employee to perform their job role efficiently and to the best of their abilities”. A Workplace adjustment can be requested at any stage in the recruitment process and/or as a part of the employment of an individual.
