Skate Australia (SA), founded in 1962, is the National Sporting Organisation for Skate Sports in Australia.
SA is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) and the International Federation World Skate.
Working in partnership with affiliated State Skating Associations, SA brings together the diverse and active skating disciplines of artistic, inline downhill, inline freestyle, inline hockey, inline speed, rink hockey, roller derby, roller freestyle and skateboarding (downhill, street luge, vert, park and street).
Skate Australia is currently in market for a General Manager High Performance to oversee the strategic direction and operational execution of the high performance department.
This position will work with alongside a non-Coaching Skateboard Technical leadership role through a dual high-performance leadership model that blends high-performance general management functions with skateboarding technical expertise. Both positions will be responsible for ensuring strong connection with the skate community and industry.
The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to drive our Skateboard High Performance Plan, setting the stage for success through Brisbane 2032 and beyond. Building on the gold-medal achievements of the Tokyo and Paris Olympic campaigns, this critical role will foster a sustainable and innovative high-performance environment to best position our athletes for success at International World Skate and Olympic competitions.
Reporting directly to the CEO, and working closely with coaches, athletes, performance staff, and industry stakeholders, you will oversee the strategy, operations, and performance outcomes for Australia’s elite skateboarding program.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the implementation of Skate Australia’s High Performance Strategy, aligning with the Win Well objectives.
- Lead a team of innovative and ambitious individuals, nurturing a culture of high-performance that fosters collaboration and strengthens capability across the elite sporting environment.
- Foster strong partnerships with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), National Institution Network (NIN), and other key stakeholders to support the delivery of the High Performance Strategy.
- Manage budgets, funding, and investment strategies to ensure sustainable success of the high-performance program.
- Oversee staff development, governance, and operational excellence across the program.

- Experience in the management and/ or administration of HP sport programs at the national or international level.
- Demonstrated ability to positively influence and cultivate a thriving performance culture that supports the wellbeing of athletes and staff.
- Experience in financial management, overseeing budgets and funding structures in a high-performance setting.
- The ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve sustained international success.
