We are seeking a Project Officer to join our Major Sports Events team
- Temporary (up to 12 months), full-time opportunity with the possibility of extension.
- Salary ranges from $110,266 to $122,058 + super & leave loading.
- Based at the Sydney Olympic Park location with hybrid work options.
About the role
The role is pivotal in planning events that leverage government investment to boost sports participation and strengthen the Sports sector. Your primary responsibility will be building and maintaining strong partnerships with event organisers and government agencies to ensure that every event not only meets but exceeds expectations. You will also be responsible for coordinating regular stakeholder meetings, preparing briefs and documentation and providing project management services to support the management of major sporting events and legacy projects.
In this dynamic role, you will be at the heart of major sporting events, from initial planning stages to the final whistle. You will undertake research and analysis, provide operational support, and ensure that all project plans, milestones, and deliverables are met on time and within budget. Your efforts will help create lasting legacies from these events, fostering a vibrant sports culture across NSW.

About you
You have a proven track record in planning and delivering events or government services. Your expertise in large-scale program development and delivery, especially in contexts with competing needs, sets you apart. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are adept at managing multiple stakeholders with diverse priorities. Your strong communication skills enable you to build and maintain effective relationships with event organisers, sporting organisations, and government agencies.
You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of juggling tight deadlines. Your ability to think analytically and solve problems ensures that you can navigate the complexities of major event management. With a commitment to achieving high-quality outcomes, you are proactive in seeking opportunities to improve processes and deliver exceptional results.
