The NSW Waratahs Women's Sevens Head Coach is responsible for providing overall leadership, selection and coaching of the NSW Waratahs Women's Sevens team from 28 April 2025 to 16 November 2025. The role carries ultimate accountability for the NSW Waratahs Women's Sevens team’s performance, both on and off the field, and includes leading the team at all competitions and tournaments.
Key Accountabilities
Game model creation and implementation
Lead the delivery of all team, unit and individual coaching requirements
Manage all programming, working very closely with the program manager on budget and approval requirements for resourcing and logistical application
Program deliverables include:
Managing a core group of 12-18 athletes
Providing them with annual and updated Individual Development Plans
Lead the design and implementation of team training, recovery and match day programming
Lead programming and session plans delivered to players and staff
Manage all external specialist coaches (e.g. kicking coach) and providers (e.g. mental skills coach, dietitian) through your programming
Create a selection policy and lead a team selection panel including the program manager and nominated team staff
Coordinate and deliver team, unit and player reviews as well as the previews process across the program
Player management:
Create a leadership group and set of clear deliverables for this group
Lead communication across all platforms with individual players
Lead communication regarding selection and non selection discussions
Record and update individual development plans with all players regularly
Be available to complete all media requirements associated with this role and program
Represent the team and organisation at several events that relate to the women’s program (including sponsorship servicing, panel speaking at key events, etc.)
Always act with the highest levels of professionalism and integrity and protect intellectual property when representing the NSW Waratahs organisation

Block 1: Program Introduction, Fundamentals & Maintenance

18 sessions across 9 weeks
Monday and Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Block 2: Next Gen Sevens Preparation & Compeition
21 July to 28 September 2025
30 training sessions plus 3 competition days across 10 weeks
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
