Are you interested in becoming a Para Powerlifting Classifier?

We are seeking expressions of interest forĀ a Para Powerlifting Classifier

The sport of Para Powerlifting is looking for doctors or physiotherapists who are interested in gaining qualifications to become an accredited Para Powerlifting Classifier.

Classification is the physical assessment which confirms a presented impairment is aligned with the medical diagnostic information submitted and meets the minimum impairment criteria outlined in the World Para Powerlifting rules and regulations.

To become a para powerlifting classifier, you will need:

  1. Registration in Australia to practice as a medical practitioner or physiotherapist.
  2. A strong understanding of paralympic sport
  3. An interest in gaining knowledge of the Classification Rules and Regulations as well as the roles, responsibilities and skills of the Classifiers.
  4. Be available to attend a Classifier Level 3 Certification course to be held on the Gold Coast 3 and 4 July 2025. (All travel and accommodation costs to be covered by PA)

Desirable Criteria

  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
