The Kardinia Park Stadium Trust (KPST) manages GMHBA Stadium, a multi-purpose venue that hosts over 45 events each year, with over 300,000 visiting the stadium annually. The stadium is an icon of Geelong, the home of the Geelong Football Club and hosts an array of events. These have recently included Big Bash Cricket, International Cricket and Soccer, A-League Soccer, NRL, local football finals, community events such as the Festival of Sport and entertainment events such as international concerts and motorsport. GMHBA Stadium was recently voted Australia’s Best Regional Stadium, and its recent major redevelopment now incorporates the Geelong Sports Museum and the Barwon Regional Cricket Centre.
We have an exciting full-time and continuous job opportunity for a Senior Manager - Security and Emergency Management. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with core and event security operations (via our security service providers), as well as managing emergency preparedness and response across the Stadium. Your duties will include overseeing emergency management in both event and non-event modes, providing expert advice to the Executive leadership team, and ensuring the Trust is well-prepared to handle potential threats and emergencies. You will also serve as the Venue Commander and Chief Warden, participate in the Emergency Planning Committee, and consult with an independent security and emergency management consultants for best practice guidance.
The ideal candidate will possess appropriate tertiary qualifications in emergency or security management, or have relevant experience in a similar role. You should have a proven track record in developing, managing, and maintaining a robust security and emergency management framework for places of large gatherings. Additionally, you must be willing and able to work outside standard business hours, including weekends, day, and night shifts.
