Employment Type: Part-Time

Position Overview

The Media Coordinator is responsible for managing and enhancing the digital presence of Keilor Basketball Association (KBA). This role oversees all social media channels, marketing tools, external media relations, and the KBA website to ensure consistent and engaging communication with the KBA community. The position also plays a key role in the coordination of special media projects, such as NBL1 Media Day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Management
    • Manage and maintain all KBA social media channels, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement.
    • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness and audience engagement.
    • Monitor social media trends and analytics to optimize performance.
  • Marketing & Communication
    • Oversee the use of marketing tools such as Mailchimp to create and distribute newsletters, event promotions, and other communications.
    • Ensure brand consistency across all digital platforms and marketing materials.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop promotional campaigns.
  • External Media Relations
    • Manage relationships with external media outlets to enhance coverage of KBA events and initiatives.
    • Draft and distribute press releases and media statements as required.
    • Coordinate media interviews and facilitate media opportunities for KBA representatives.
  • Website Oversight
    • Manage and update the KBA website to ensure accurate and up-to-date content.
    • Work with relevant stakeholders to maintain website functionality and user experience.
    • Monitor website analytics and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Special Projects & Event Coverage
    • Lead the planning and execution of media-related special projects, such as NBL1 Media Day.
    • Provide media support at key KBA events, including live coverage, photography, and video content.
    • Work with event teams to ensure high-quality media representation.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in social media management, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, content creation, and analytics tools.
  • Experience with marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.
  • Website management experience, including content updates and user experience improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in sports media is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of basketball and the sporting industry is advantageous.

Working Conditions

  • Part-time position with flexible working hours, including some evenings and weekends for event coverage.
  • Hybrid work environment with a combination of remote work and on-site presence at KBA events and offices.
