Description

The Australian Sports Commission is embarking on the Green and Gold decade. An exciting time filled with international sporting competitions on home soil, including the Men’s and Women’s Rugby World Cup, and culminating in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We have an ambitious new Strategic Vision and we need the best players on our team to help us deliver real results for the sporting sector and all Australians.

Are you up for the challenge?

About the team - Performance Pathways and Programs branch assists National Sporting Organisations to plan, monitor and review their current and future cycle high performance strategies, including sport relevant athlete pathway strategies and specific campaign plans.

About the role - Working in the Performance Pathways and Programs Branch, as part of a wider team of Performance Program Consultants, you will work with a portfolio of NSOs and will work collaboratively whilst engaging both internal and external colleagues to achieve their high performance strategic priorities. A primary role is to reinforce the AIS’s objective for the organisation to be a genuine and valued partner with NSOs.

About you - We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent attention to detail, who can be successful in understanding Australia’s Win Well High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy and aligning with AIS Performance to execute goals seamlessly.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant Degree or higher qualification/s relevant to the role and/or senior level experience in HP sport.
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a senior position within a high performance sport program with the ability to utilise this knowledge and experience in support and empathy with NSOs in identifying appropriate performance solutions.
  • Strong and adaptable communication skills with the ability to hold high level supportive but challenging performance conversations, including with the Performance Director and CEO.
  • Lead network engagement, gaining the confidence and respect of internal staff, key NSO and system stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and achieving team and project objectives in line with a strategic direction.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling, objective and concise advice to inform executive members and senior management to support decision making
  • Note: Across the Team of Consultants, a broad coverage of skills relevant to the delivery of HP program outcomes is desired. It is not intended that all members of the team will possess the same skill set (e.g. campaign planning expertise, wellbeing), but that across the team a diversity of skills for successful delivery of business area objectives will be recruited.

This position is offered as an ONGOING position.
