Description

The Digital Manager is responsible for creating engaging and innovative content across the Storm digital network. This project-based opportunity is for Season 2025 with the scope for possible extension going forward.

The role will join the team on a full-time, fixed-term contract, until 31 October 2025 (with a possibility to extend), to support the delivery of 2025 content servicing the various departments internally. Working with the internal team as well as the external agency, this role will champion the melbournestorm.com.au site, app and social platforms and will lead the Clubs digital strategy with creativity and passion, using data to set the club apart. Key areas of focus will include fan engagement, audience growth, football integration and digital commercialisation.

As the Digital Media Producer, you will:

  • Manage the delivery of the club’s Digital Strategy.
  • Manage & Drive digital engagement across all channels, ensuring Storm remains an industry-leader.
  • Act as an internal specialist leading innovation and technology in the sport’s digital environment.
  • Manage digital reporting and analytics to make data driven decisions.
  • Utilise data and insights to drive digital content and outcomes.
  • Manage the Club’s Digital agency to support the development and execution of commercial campaigns
  • Work closely with the Sponsorship team to develop and deliver the Club’s Digital commercialisation program
  • Provide expertise and support with prospective and current partners on digital best practice and leverage ideas
  • Be the leader in engaging fans to foster engagement and drive emotional connection
  • Collaborate and contrite to our customer journey planning – engaging our social audience to convert to customers
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to integrate campaigns across club channels.
  • Work closely with the football department to bring behind the scenes content to life
  • Work closely with the players to educate and inform on social media trends and best practice

Due to the nature of our industry, this role will be required to work on game day and at nominated Club events, which will require some weekend and evening availability, and some occasional travel.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or similar.
  • 5+ years’ experience working within digital and communications.
  • Experience in the sporting industry will be highly regarded.
