Rugby Victoria is seeking a Media Intern to support its media and communications team. This internship provides hands-on experience in digital content creation, social media management, and event coverage, making it an ideal opportunity for students or recent graduates passionate about rugby and sports media.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in creating and managing content across Rugby Victoria’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn).
Capture and edit photos and videos from matches, training sessions, and events.
Support the production of digital content, including highlights, interviews, and promotional material.
Write match reports, player profiles, and community features for the website and newsletters.
Monitor social media engagement and provide insights to improve audience reach.
Assist in live match coverage, including score updates and media coordination.
Support Rugby Victoria’s media and press relations.
Collaborate with clubs, teams, and stakeholders to showcase the growth of rugby in Victoria.
REQUIREMENTS
Currently studying or recently graduated in Media, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Passion for rugby or sport and a strong understanding of the sport’s landscape in Victoria.
Excellent writing, storytelling, and communication skills.
Proficiency in social media platforms and scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, Twitter/X, TikTok).
Basic photography and video editing skills (Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar).
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Availability to work some evenings and weekends for match and event coverage.
