POSITION OVERVIEW

Rugby Victoria is seeking a Media Intern to support its media and communications team. This internship provides hands-on experience in digital content creation, social media management, and event coverage, making it an ideal opportunity for students or recent graduates passionate about rugby and sports media. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist in creating and managing content across Rugby Victoria’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn). 
  • Capture and edit photos and videos from matches, training sessions, and events. 
  • Support the production of digital content, including highlights, interviews, and promotional material. 
  • Write match reports, player profiles, and community features for the website and newsletters. 
  • Monitor social media engagement and provide insights to improve audience reach. 
  • Assist in live match coverage, including score updates and media coordination. 
  • Support Rugby Victoria’s media and press relations. 
  • Collaborate with clubs, teams, and stakeholders to showcase the growth of rugby in Victoria. 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Currently studying or recently graduated in Media, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. 
  • Passion for rugby or sport and a strong understanding of the sport’s landscape in Victoria. 
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, Twitter/X, TikTok). 
  • Basic photography and video editing skills (Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar). 
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends for match and event coverage.
