The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has awarded Football Australia hosting rights for the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup™. This marks Australia's second time hosting the event, after previously staging it in 2006, and follows the success of co-hosting the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup™.
You will be part of a Local Organising Committee (LOC), which has been established for the sole purpose of delivering the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup™ in Australia.
This prestigious event will bring together 12 nations in a tournament structured into three groups of four. We are eager to create another tournament that celebrates women's football and multicultural Australia and also delivers legacy outcomes for football and Australian society more broadly.

Your Next Big Match
The Workforce Planning and Operations is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing workforce requirements for a successful tournament. This role includes staff scoping, workforce planning, scheduling, uniform ordering and distribution, and catering and other logistics arrangements to ensure smooth workforce tournament operations.
Please note that this role is fixed term until April 2026.
- Workforce Planning & Staffing: Develop and implement workforce plans across departments, ensuring alignment with HR and Finance for staffing and budget needs.
- Scheduling & Deployment: Create scheduling policies, use workforce software for shift allocation, and manage real-time adjustments and attendance during the event.
- Uniform Management: Define, procure, and distribute uniforms based on staff categories and sizes, with inventory control and post-event returns.
- Catering & Staff Welfare: Plan catering logistics with dietary considerations, coordinate with providers, and implement welfare initiatives like hydration and rest areas.
- Operational Coordination: Act as the central contact for workforce operations, manage workforce area logistics, and oversee venue training.
- Reporting & Evaluation: Deliver post-event reports analyzing workforce performance and operational efficiency.

- Australian Labor Law Knowledge
- Experience in events and workforce management system

- Working with children check (paid/employee) or state-based equivalent
- International Criminal History Record for each country (other than Australia) in which you have resided for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (if applicable)
- Out of hours and weekend work as required
