Swimming Victoria is the governing state sporting association for swimming in Victoria. Swimming Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. Our vision is “To inspire Victoria to Swim.” Our organisation delivers state level competitions and provides services and support to registered clubs and members as well as many partner organisations and their members in the aquatic and sporting industry.
As a member of the Communications Team, you will assist inthe development, coordination, and execution of the Communications Strategy and provide education and guidance in the overall communications of Swimming Victoria.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Tertiary qualification in Communications or Graphic Design or Marketing or 12 months experience in a similar role.
Strong storytelling skills and the ability to craft engaging narratives for different audiences
In-depth knowledge of major social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube
Experience in using Canva to create design collateral as required (i.e. graphics, photo/video editing)
High level of written and verbal communication
Excellent eye for detail
Excellent editing and proofreading skills
Ability to work some nights and weekends (due to the nature of the sporting industry)
Ability to work in various locations dependent on the competitions and development calendars
Expertise in digital marketing, social media strategy, and traditional advertising
Experience working in sports, entertainment, or live events is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of event promotion, fan engagement and sponsor activation
Able to collaborate with a team, a great attitude, ability to be flexible and multitask
