The Performance Pathways Manager will be responsible for managing the development and delivery of Para Powerlifting Pathway strategies and programs.  

Primarily the role will improve the effectiveness of the performance pathways in Para Powerlifting to successfully implement detailed mapping, monitoring, and delivery of pathway activities for Para Powerlifting in Australia.  

The role aims to support medium and long-term performance outcomes specific to the identification, development, support and progression of talented Parajen Powerlifting athletes within the pathway.  The role will ensure athletes capable of achieving international success have appropriate opportunities and support provided for their development 

About the Role 

As the Performance Pathways Manager-Para Powerlifting you will: 

• Implement valid Talent Identification and confirmation strategies aligned to the ‘What It Takes To Win’ (WITTW) modelling for Para Powerlifting.  
• Develop & implement innovative and special projects, including Talent Transfer, to increase participation & talent depth within the Para Powerlifting pathway. 
• Manage the Individual Athlete Performance Plans (IAPP’s) & coordinate and deliver camps and activity for an Emerging talent squad. 
• Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships and partnerships to ensure seamless pathway delivery (training, competition & camps).  
• Engage with coach development initiatives to increase pool of coaches supporting emerging athletes. 
• Be primary point of contact for SIS/SAS Para sport units for pre-Emerging athlete initiatives. 
• Provide high level and timely advice to GM Performance & Pathways and other program staff as required.  
• Manage budgets, track expenditure, and provide reports specific to pathway initiatives and programs.  
• Ensure all pathway athletes and coaches adhere to anti-doping, safety, classification, and integrity policies and complete education modules as required. 

About You 

We’re seeking someone with: 

• Understanding and/or working knowledge of procedures within para-sports, with preference for demonstrated experience in para-sports. 
• Experience working with coaches, athletes and staff in a performance support environment. 
• Initiation and maintenance of key stakeholder relationships and partnerships. 
• Excellent interpersonal and strong communication and administrative skills to align and effectively execute program initiatives. 
• The ability to support the requirements of the position related to interstate travel and weekend work. 

Qualifications 

• Tertiary qualifications in sport management, education and/or sport science is preferable although not essential depending upon experience. 
• Experience working in strength-based sports is preferable. 
• Current working with children’s check.
