Northern Territory Sports Academy (NTSA)
NTSA works in collaboration with key partners including the Australian Sports Commission, National Sporting Organisations (NSOs), Paralympics Australia, and NT sporting bodies, to create and deliver best practice pathway programs for emerging athletes, coaches and officials. The Role
As the Para Pathways Physical Development Officer, you will operate within an integrated service model, leading the delivery of best practice programs focused on the physical development of para-athletes. Working with coaches, scholarship athletes and other identified athletes with a disability across the NT, to create better outcomes and pathway progression.
Key Duties
- Contribute to the design and delivery of inclusive physical development programs tailored to athletes with a disability, supporting long-term development goals.
- Collaborate directly with coaches to build their knowledge and confidence in delivering holistic and effective training programs, aligned with best practice and long-term athlete development principles.
- Work closely with the Para Futures Program Manager, NTSA Senior Manager, and sporting organisations to ensure programs are aligned and impactful.
- Build strong relationships with local and national sport partners to support athlete progression.
- Contribute to the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of programs to drive continuous improvement.
- Support cross-unit initiatives and collaborate with the wider sport and recreation team to enhance sector-wide learning and development.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about inclusive sport, a great collaborator, and able to adapt to the diverse needs of athletes and partners.
You’ll have:
- ASCA Level 1 (or higher) accreditation or equivalent.
- Proven experience designing and delivering physical development programs in multi-sport environments.
- Demonstrated experience coaching both able-bodied and para-athletes at the community and elite level.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to work independently, think strategically and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases, and social media platforms.
