Description

Melbourne Storm is an Australian professional rugby league club playing in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. It is the only NRL team based in Victoria and has experienced substantial growth and success in its short history.

About the role

This is a full-time permanent role, reporting to the Head of Membership which will play an important role within the Membership Department. The Membership Manager will be responsible for development and execution of the Membership acquisition and retention program, as well as growing revenue across membership and additional revenue streams.

Key to success will be the proven ability to develop and oversee strategies to grow the consumer base of Melbourne Storm and to guide the membership sales and lEAoperations team and ensure the smooth running of the end-to-end membership function.

As the Membership Manager, you will:

The Membership Manager will be responsible for a number of key deliverables across the membership function and stakeholder management, including but not limited to:

  • Create and develop a sales strategy collaboratively with the marketing department to grow membership numbers and club revenue in line with business growth targets.
  • Implement and manage the execution of sales plans for member acquisition & retention with the membership team.
  • Liaise with key internal stakeholders to effectively implement and manage the execution of sales plans for acquisition & retention within the Membership team.
  • Develop and implement a data capture strategy to identify new prospects and markets.
  • Work collaboratively with the Membership Operations Manager & Fan Engagement Manager to leverage ticket sales opportunities into Members and ensure data capture throughout all ticketing processes.
  • Plan, deliver and drive the membership fulfilment program to meet member expectations while maintaining budget
  • Oversee Membership entitlements and data flow overlay to the ticketing build, ensuring accuracy of member entitlements for home games
  • Ensure the annual membership fulfilment & interstate ticketing cost budgets are kept up to date and reported on regularly and are controlled. Check and maintain oversight on all invoices into MYOB for prompt payment to membership suppliers
  • Effectively oversee, drive and coach a high-performance sales team, to deliver upon daily targets and KPIs.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 2 year’s experience in a Membership-related role
  • Experience in a sporting club will be highly desirable
  • Minimum 1 year experience with staff management and coaching
  • Tertiary qualification in Sports Management, Business, or related discipline is desirable
