Northern Suburbs Basketball Association (Norths Basketball) is a not-for-profit sports association, located in the heart of Crows Nest. Norths is dedicated serving our 5,500 members and sharing the love of basketball within our community.

Focus of this role is providing an outstanding and safe customer experience for the thousands of people walking through our doors each week and ensuring our onsite facilities are managed and maintained as part of the experience in conjunction with relevant bylaws, legislation, and association rules.

What will my role look like?

The Stadium & Venues Manager is a full-time hands-on role with accountability for the following areas:

  1. Leading and motivating the customer service team including recruiting, training and management of front desk team
  2. Management of North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre (NSISC) including maintenance, court bookings, usage maximisation and reporting
  3. External venue booking and relationship management
  4. Responsibility for all special event venue requirements including NBL1
  5. Management of NSISC WHS obligations and reporting
  6. Front of house stock and inventory management

What you will have:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills as you work with a diverse member and community base - you need to care about customer service and proactive communication
  • Facility or venue management experience
  • Have more than 3 years’ experience in managing a small team with a proactive approach to developing and upskilling
  • A love of sport (it doesn’t have to be basketball but it helps!)
  • Ability to use technology to improve processes and efficiency. Previous experience using Envibe and Deputy would be advantageous.
  • Staff scheduling experience is highly desirable.
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate (or the commitment to get one)
  • NSW Working with Children’s Check
  • Drivers Licence
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights

The Roster

We have some flexibility re the times of day, so you can discuss early or late shifts with the CEO, but you will need to have some flexibility to work occasional weekends when required and be available for emergency calls.

We shut down over major holidays like Christmas/New Year, Easter, King’s Birthday and Labour Day so you won’t miss big occasions with friends or family.
