The Role

As the Swim School Manager for our JUMP Swim School, your role is to ensure effective and efficient operations of the swim school in accordance with operational practices, contractual requirements, quality systems, legislative regulations, and relevant industry guidelines. To implement and maintain all company policies and procedures. To review all existing processes and advise on the necessary operational changes, improvements, and amendments to maintain high levels of customer service, procedural effectiveness, and financial viability.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure the smooth daily operation of the swim school across all areas.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and ensure efficient management of the front desk, including answering or returning calls, taking bookings and payments, and answering emails and Facebook messages in a timely manner as per JUMP! standards.
  • Managing and supervision of all swim teachers, including staff rosters, performance management, and recruitment of new employees.
  • Ensure that customer feedback is acted upon and, over time, reduce any negative perception communicated by customers regarding site operations.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date employee, customer, pool maintenance, safety, and other records as required, including payments and Incident Register.
  • Develop and implement local area marketing initiatives to increase enrolment numbers.
  • Performing and recording all daily/weekly/monthly checklists required.
  • Ongoing training to ensure company standards are maintained.
  • Ensure the physical appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the site are maintained to a high standard.
  • Delivery of swimming lessons when required.
  • General financial duties including assisting with payment reconciliations, payroll, and accounts payable.
  • Stock control.
  • Maintenance of all onsite equipment to ensure these are regularly serviced, cleaned, and always in a good working order.
  • Other general administration, cleaning, and service duties as required and directed.

ESSENTIAL:

  • At least 3 years’ management experience in a similar role
  • Able to work 1 day on the weekend
  • Ability to effectively manage small teams
  • Ability to work autonomously and to make independent decisions
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certification or equivalent
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • NSW Police Check

DESIRABLE:

  • Aquatics industry experience
  • Prior experience in the quality assurance of swim programs
  • Financial management experience
  • Familiarity with HR structures
  • Pool Operation course certificate
