THE ROLE
Our Duty Managers play a lead role in providing a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our members and guests.
Duties include:
- Overseeing the operations of the facilities during shift including opening and closing.
- Building strong relationships across teams to ensure a positive experience for members, guests and other stakeholders.
- Managing first aid and emergency responses.
- Reporting and following up on all repairs and maintenance issues.
- Managing and monitoring the daily pool plant operations ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Providing cover for Lifeguards lunch and rest breaks, if required.
Macquarie University Sport & Aquatic Centre and Sports Fields operates 5.30am-10.00pm on weekdays, and 6.00am - 7.00pm on weekends, with shifts available for weekend, weekday, early morning and evening work.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience in the operation of a wet and dry leisure centre
- A team player with an ability to inspire others
- Demonstrated experience monitoring and overseeing pool plant operations
- Knowledge of WHS and public safety applications within leisure facilities
- Commitment to a high level of customer service
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- The ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse range of ages, abilities, cultures and needs
This position requires:
- Current Pool Plant Operations Certificate
- NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Demonstrated Lifeguard experience and holds a current Lifeguard Certificate.
- NSW Drivers Licence
- Criminal History Check
Desirable Criteria
- Aquatic Supervision qualification
