We have a full-time position available for an experienced Aquatics Trainer - Program & Teacher Development to join our Aquatics team at Sydney Gymnastics & Aquatic Centre (SGAC) at West HQ.

What does an Aquatics Trainer - Program & Teacher Development do?

The Aquatics Trainer - Program & Teacher Development plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of the swimming & water safety teaching standard at SGAC. You will be responsible for training, observing and developing our aquatic program team, ensuring they deliver top-notch teaching/instruction while overseeing program quality and implementing best practices.

The ideal candidate for the Aquatics Trainer - Program & Teacher Development position should have a genuine passion for swimming and water safety, along with strong leadership and communication skills. What do you need to be considered?

  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Towards Competitive Strokes
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (minimally TAE40116) - Desirable
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Accreditation
  • Working with Children Check
  • 5+ Years’ experience in teaching Swimming & Water Safety
  • 5+ Years’ Demonstrated Programming, Administration, Training Implementation and delivery
  • Broad industry experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of the aquatics industry, swimming and child development and technical training requirements from the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations (GSPO)
  • Capacity to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite
  • Capacity to effectively use Xplor Recreation Customer Retention Management System (Desirable)
