Sydney University Football Club holds the most Shute Shield premierships having won 33, winning it’s last in 2022, whilst also holding the record of consecutive record run of club championships spanning 16 years.
Since 2003, the club has played a pivotal role in developing top-tier physiotherapists, 5 of which who have gone on to work with elite rugby teams. Our team members have progressed to prominent positions with the NSW Waratahs and Western Force in Australia, and many have achieved national honors, contributing to teams such as the Wallabies, Australia A, Australia 7’s, and the Junior Wallabies.
Our expertise has also extended internationally, with our physiotherapists representing top teams, including Saracens in the UK and Ricoh Black Rams in Japan. This track record showcases our commitment to developing the highest level of clinical and performance-based physiotherapy.
The Sports Clinic and the University of Sydney Football Club Grade team require a Lead Physiotherapist for matchday coverage and clinics on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon/evenings for the upcoming season, commencing in January 2025. You will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of training and match day preparation and injury rehab.
Pre season hours consist of 10h clinical/training and pre-season match day coverage.
In season coverage ( 20h) includes Monday morning triage and medical meeting with the team Physician and coaches.
Treatment will take place on a Monday afternoon after 4.30pm for 2-3 hours. and Tuesday and Thursday after 4.30pm for 2-3 hours followed by training (20 hours max)
Match days are scheduled for Saturdays with variable kick off times for lower grades
You will be required to work closely with the Sydney University men's colts and womens Physiotherapist.
The successful candidate must have experience in working in collision based sports and experience in working in a multidiscipinary sports environement.
The candidate must be committed to role of a team physiotherapist for the season, be driven to work in elite level sport, resiliance and ability to work in a high performance environment and have excellent communication skills.
Preferable but not essential: Titled APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy. 4 years post grad experience.
