The NSW Athletics Partnership (NSWAP) entails Little Athletics NSW (LANSW) and Athletics NSW (ANSW) delivering the first entirely unified and single Athletics offering in NSW in 56 years and has three main components:
- A single Affiliation structure
- A single Membership offering
- A single Championship and Events pathway.
The NSWAP ensures the removal of duplicated membership costs and administration processes, while also significantly expanding competition opportunities and pathways for all members by providing everyone with the best that both LANSW and ANSW have to offer.
In conjunction with LANSW, we provide the framework for over 51,000 registered members and participants to enjoy athletics at all levels of performance, working closely with our 230+ member centres and clubs for the best interests of the sport of athletics throughout NSW.
As a result of this Partnership, our sport is currently experiencing a surge in popularity and in participation and performances and together we are poised to build on the momentum of this summer to inspire the next generation of athletes and fans and to continue growing the sport in NSW.
Athletics NSW is seeking an experienced and organised Strength & Conditioning Coach to join our team to deliver our Intermediate Program and partnering sport programs at the Centre of Excellence.
Reporting to the Manager of Performance & Pathways, you will be a central figure in executing the Intermediate Program. The Intermediate Program is our development level program allowing athletes access to the centre two times per week to train in a heavily supervised squad environment under their individualised programs. The goal of the program is to develop strength, power and speed qualities to compliment performance in the athlete's individual sport. The program is open to multi-sport with athletes 14+ years old.
The Strength & Conditioning coach will also play a role in delivering programs to partnering sporting clubs/ groups with the Centre of Excellence.
This role requires knowledge and skills in long term athletic development, flexibility, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to effectively balance the needs of operations within the Centre of Excellence

As the Strength & Conditioning Coach you will be responsible for:
Intermediate Program:
- Deliver the Intermediate Program in line with the Performance & Pathways coaching philosophy and framework.
- Directly manage the athletic development of all development level athletes in the program
- Communicate with external stakeholders including: Parents/carers, coaches, medical practitioners to provide feedback and enhance the support network of the athlete to ensure athletic progress.
- Contribute to workshops, webinars and seminars relating to youth development
- Continual athlete performance tracking through movement assessments and utilisation of technology (VALD systems & Microsoft Office)
- Any other duties as required as delegated by your manager
Partnering Sport Programs:
- Assist in the delivery of selected programs which will include:
- Direct coaching with a group of athletes
- Assist in periodic performance testing utilising technology
- Report back to program lead to ensure continual communication between internal and external stakeholders and synergy in program delivery between coaches.
- Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science or similar
- Current ASCA Level 2 (Associate) Strength & Conditioning Coach Accreditation
- Extensive experience working with Youth Development with sound knowledge in long term athletic development models
- High energy coaching style with experience coaching group-based training
- Excellent skills in Sport Science technologies (VALD systems, Microsoft Office)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Current Working with Children Check and First Aid Qualification
- Must be available for weekend work
