THE ROLE
U@MQ is currently seeking a full-time Age Group Swimming Coach to join the Macquarie University Sports and Aquatics Centre (MUSAC) team. Reporting to the Head Coach, the Age Group Swimming Coach will be responsible for delivering face to face training sessions for Metropolitan, State Age & National Age qualifiers.
You will:
- Coach age group swimmers aiming to qualify for the National Age championships and swimmers competing at a State Age level.
- Develop and implement seasonal training plans, to assist in the development and progression of all swimmers within the program.
- Assist the Head Coach at NSW Metropolitan, State and National level competitions.
- Attend and coach at club races and internal/external meets.
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of internal swimming events and activities in consultation with the Head Coach.
- Monitor swimmer progress and provide regular feedback to parents
- Perform basic administrative duties (attendance, communication, reporting)
- Contribute to a positive team culture and growth-focused coaching philosophy

You are organised, driven, and passionate about developing technical excellence and personal growth in your swimmers. Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre (MUSAC) is a multi-purpose venue. Located at Wallumattagal Campus, our facility includes a 6-lane heated indoor pool, and an 8-lane outdoor heated Olympic-sized swimming pool.
The coaching team provides coaching and direction in best practice and techniques for competitive swimmers of all ages.

Essential Role Requirements

*** Work hours will vary throughout the competition season. Must be available to work on a rotating roster seven (7) days per week and available to work split shifts.
Essential Selection Criteria
- SCTA Development Coach certification or higher.
- Ability to develop and nurture swimmers of all abilities with diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels including handling sensitive matters regarding participants in a professional and confidential manner.
- Proven experience in customer service skills and complaints handling.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

- SCTA Coaching Open Water Swimmers
- SCTA Advanced Coach
- ASCA Level 1 Strength and Conditioning
- AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia Teacher of Adults, or Masters Coaching Accreditation
