This course describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR in a range of situations‚ including community and workplace settings.

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation covers the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. CPR is required to be updated every 12 months.

The unit of competency : HLTAID011, along with HLTAID009 (CPR) provides students with the skills and knowledge to effectively provide emergency response and apply basic life support. Topics covered include life support, management of casualty(s) and incident management until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
